(23-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The former President of Somalia, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, has extended an olive branch to the warring clans in the conflict-affected area of Alaag, which falls under El Baraf district, Middle Shabelle region.
In a brief message shared via his Facebook page, former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed expressed the following: “I urge the fraternal clans engaged in the recent skirmishes along the border regions of Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan to halt the hostilities that have flared up in recent days. Security forces and the sage leaders of the community must mediate between the feuding kin to preclude escalation and avert the loss of familial blood. To conclude, it is my sincere wish that these kinfolk will foster amicable ties, mutual co-existence, and revere Allah in the sanctity of a Muslim’s life.”
