(17-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Bicameral Parliament today reviewed the government’s fiscal closure for the year 2022, following a presentation by the Ministry of Finance. The review occurred during the fourth session’s eighth meeting, where Senators and Members of the House of the People discussed the financial statement. They not only shared their perspectives but also highlighted discrepancies and sought clarifications in specific areas of the report.
Subsequently, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Abdiqafar Hange, addressed the assembly, and responded to the queries posed by the legislators, with a particular focus on areas that garnered special attention.
Presiding over the meeting was Mr Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), Speaker of the House of the People. The session was also attended by members, including Mr Abdi Ali Shacbaan Ibrahim, the First Deputy Speaker of the Upper House, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Upper House, and the Deputy Speakers of the House of the People, further emphasising the meeting’s importance.
