(03-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — On Wednesday, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre officially inaugurated the launch of the Institute of Islamic Studies and Research in Mogadishu. He said that the institute is supposed to cultivate religious scholars committed to guiding the people along the righteous path.
Mr Barre advised that institute personnel, including scholars, researchers, and experts working at the centre should be chosen through transparency and meritocracy, advocating for a competitive selection process.
Moreover, Prime Minister Barre commended the efforts of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Heritage, and Higher Education in founding this institute. He dictated that the centre should be of exemplary quality and furnished with all necessary resources to effectively fulfil its mission.
