(14-02-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Somalia’s Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Moallin Mohamud, accompanied by Permanent Secretary of the Federal Parliament, Faisal Adan Hassan, and the parliamentary committee tasked with prison affairs, met at the Parliament Headquarters of Villa Hargeisa.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance the nation’s correctional facilities and safeguard the rights of prisoners. Upon evaluating the state of inmates across the country, the minister and the committee pinpointed a critical need for improvements, particularly in the central prison in Mogadishu. They stressed the urgency of addressing these deficiencies to guarantee the protection of prisoners’ rights.
