(16-03-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Somalia’s Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Ahmed Moallin Fiqi, held a meeting Saturday with Raisedon Zenenga, the newly appointed Deputy to the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Somalia. The discussions focused on the progress of national liberation, stabilisation, reconciliation, federalisation, and upcoming elections, among other important issues.
Rohan Titus, the official responsible for political affairs and mediation at the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), also participated in the discussions. During the meeting, Mr Zenenga praised the Interior Ministry and the federal government for their consistent achievements across various sectors over the last two years, highlighting the United Nations’ dedication to supporting Somalia’s state-building and developmental endeavours.
Minister Fiqi expressed the Somali government’s commitment to advancing the country’s liberation, stabilisation, swift recovery, and federalisation processes. He emphasised the government’s efforts to enhance service delivery and governance, bringing them closer to the Somali people.
