(26 March 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — On Tuesday, the Somali National Army, backed by local community forces, carried out an attack on an Al-Shabaab base located in Ba’adka Farah Adan on the outskirts of Harardheere, a coastal town in the Mudug region.
The district commissioner of Harardheere, Mohamed Yusuf, confirmed the operation, telling state media that the joint forces targeted the militants’ hideouts in the outskirts of the district. Yusuf further remarked that the military is currently tracking the fleeing militants in the jungle.
The objective of the operation was to crush the militants’ presence near Harardheere, which is one of the significant towns recently reclaimed from Al-Shabaab’s control.
