(15 April 2024) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — A fierce blaze ignited on Sunday in the Dalsan Valley within the Dangorayo district, Nugal region, with speculations pointing to the intensifying heat from climate change as a likely cause.
The inferno has inflicted damage on the area’s flat grazing lands. Deputy Mayor of Dangorayo, Mr Abdinur Haji Ahmed, announced that local authorities have managed to quell the flames and are currently investigating the origins of the fire.
Residents in several Somali cities and towns have been complaining about severe heatwaves since March.
