(24 April 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Somali government on Wednesday claimed a new military operation killed over 30 Al-Shabaab militants in the vicinity of Arfuuda, about 20 km northeast of Harardheere, Galmudug State. According to a press release from Somalia’s Ministry of Information, the operation was the collaboration of Somali forces and international partners, saying the operation targeted two centres – one for organising militants and another for assembling explosives.
The joint military forces also succeeded in dismantling the group’s military supply in the area, including military vehicles. The statement said one main motive is to target Al-Shabaab at every site to prevent and cripple their movements and activities.
