The Somali Police Force has arrested a group of young people, including male and female social media users, during a day-long operation in Mogadishu. The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in inciting clannism and public unrest on social media, particularly on TikTok, in recent days.
The police statement revealed that 21 youths were detained for engaging in activities described as “immorality and division” within the community. The Police have initiated an investigation into the charges against these youths to identify those responsible for orchestrating their actions.
The Police Force issued a warning to the residents of the capital and its surroundings to avoid engaging in immoral activities, inciting clannism, public unrest, and insulting citizens.
