Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni has announced the appointment of Gen. Mohamed-Amin Abdullahi Haji Khair as the Senior Advisor to the President on Security Affairs. Gen. Haji Khair previously served as the director of the Puntland Security Force (PSF) agency from 24 November 2021.
The initial appointment of Gen. Haji Khair to lead the PSF agency led to tension and subsequent fighting in the city of Bossaso, following opposition from the then-sacked PSF director.
