On Monday, the Somali National Army (SNA) together with local forces, launched an operation near the Mesegewa area in the Galgaduud region, targeting hideouts operated by Al-Shabaab militants. These hideouts have been used by the militants to perpetrate acts of insecurity in the region.
The operation focused on villages and forested areas that have served as shelters for the militants. A significant location targeted during this mission was the Dhagahyaale locality, 18 kilometres west of Mesewaga. The forces successfully dismantled trenches and makeshift shelters that had been utilised by Al-Shabaab militants.
