In a meeting at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Moallim Mohamud, the Minister of Justice of the Federal Government of Somalia, who is also serving as the Acting Prime Minister, received Mr. Raisedon Zenenga, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. The two officials discussed key support strategies for the Somali justice sector, particularly focusing on extending judicial services to regions recently liberated from conflict, and the essential completion of the constitutional process.
During the meeting, Minister Mohamud expressed gratitude for the UN’s ongoing commitment and outlined the government’s priority to bolster the justice sector’s capacity as part of the national agenda. The initiative is crucial for advancing the electoral process, enabling the Somali people to elect their leaders directly.
