(30-06-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Premier Airlines, the first Somali-owned passenger airline in three decades, was unveiled yesterday at Adan Abdulle International Airport. This historic event marks a significant milestone for the Somali aviation industry and the country’s economy.
Somali businessmen have invested in the airline, which is registered in Somalia and will fly to international destinations. This development is expected to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities for Somali youth.
Director of Somali Civil Aviation Authority, Ahmed Moallim Hassan, expressed his admiration for the Somali businessmen who invested in the airline, stating, “It is encouraging and commendable to see Somali businessmen daring to invest and buy aeroplanes.”
Hassan further encouraged Somali businessmen to invest in land, sea, and air transport and to take advantage of investment opportunities in airports, roads, and bridges. He emphasized the importance of such ventures for the country’s development.
