(24-06-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Renewed clashes between armed tribal militias have erupted on the outskirts of Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug state, causing casualties and escalating tensions in the region. Fierce fighting has been concentrated in the Taragaduud area, east of the Galgaduud region. Residents have confirmed at least one civilian death and one injury.
The situation remains tense, with both sides reportedly receiving reinforcements. The conflict follows a separate incident yesterday in nearby Bulacle, where a Quran school teacher and his wife were tragically killed. These latest clashes add to the ongoing instability plaguing central Somalia, with recent battles in Abudwaq claiming dozens of lives.
Despite ongoing peace efforts in Dhusamareb, the conflict shows no signs of abating, raising concerns about further escalation and displacement. Galmudug authorities have yet to issue a statement on the violence.
