(12-07-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – On Friday, Mogadishu welcomed EgyptAir’s inaugural flight, symbolising a strengthening bond between Somalia and Egypt. Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi and his Egyptian counterpart, Badar Abdul Adi, were present to mark the historic occasion.
This new direct flight service is expected to bolster economic and commercial ties between the two nations. It also underscores Egypt’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s sovereignty, particularly in light of recent regional challenges.
The launch also solidifies Mogadishu’s growing importance as a regional aviation hub, with more international airlines now offering direct connections to the Somali capital.
