(02-07-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has announced that his government will soon recruit 3,000 new teachers to strengthen the education sector of the country. Speaking at the 64th Independence Anniversary event held in Mogadishu, PM Barre said that the recruitment process for hiring new teachers will uphold previous meritocratic and transparent procedures to address educational gaps in the country.
Addressing the recently concluded high school examinations nationwide, PM Barre commended the successful completion of the exercise and noted its achievement in maintaining stability as the Federal Education Ministry planned.
While applauding the advancements in rebuilding the Somali National Army, PM Barre underscored ongoing efforts to revive the education sector, stressing the importance of combating ignorance and promoting education as integral to the government’s comprehensive national rebuilding agenda.
