(14-07-24) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – President Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe of Jubaland today inaugurated the national justice forum in Kismayo, calling for enhanced collaboration and capacity building within Somalia’s justice sector to ensure fair and efficient justice delivery for all citizens.
President Madobe stressed the importance of empowering federal and state-level justice institutions to make independent, effective decisions based on national law, which is crucial for a country like Somalia to rebuild its legal framework after decades of conflict. He highlighted the need for transparent processes and called for measures to prevent corruption within the judiciary.
The two-day forum, attended by key figures such as the Chairman of the Supreme Court, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Attorney General, and justice officials from across the country, will focus on developing strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of justice delivery for all Somali citizens.
President Madobe expressed his hope that the forum will yield concrete solutions that will significantly enhance the functioning of Somalia’s justice system. He underscored the high expectations of the Somali people for tangible improvements in the administration of justice, such as faster case resolution, reduced corruption, and increased access to legal aid.
