(10-07-24) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – Jubaland security forces foiled an Al-Shabaab car bomb plot aimed at assassinating Lieutenant Colonel Mahad Mohamed Islam in Afmadow. A young member of Jubaland’s forces, tasked by Al-Shabaab to plant the bomb, instead informed his commander about the plot, leading to its failure.
Commander Mahad Mohamed Islam confirmed that the operation was monitored from start to finish, and the bomb was safely detonated. The young informant, Ahmed Abdi Digale, was rewarded US$3,000 by the Jubaland government for his critical intelligence, with authorities pledging to reward anyone who provides similar key information in the future.
