(09-07-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Somali National Army (SNA), in collaboration with residents, conducted a significant operation in the forested area between Bod and Budbud in Galgaduud region. The operation aimed to disrupt a gathering of Al-Shabaab militants and thwart their activities.
Commander Abdirahman Salad Hujale of the 26th Brigade of Ali Bin Abi Talib confirmed the operation, stating that it targeted Al-Shabaab militants who had been assembling in the forest. While the militants were successfully dispersed, efforts to track down the remaining fighters are ongoing.
“The operation will continue until the area is cleared of Al-Shabaab,” Commander Hujale asserted.
This operation follows a recent successful raid on an Al-Shabaab base near Eldheer district, where several militants were killed and weapons were recovered. The combined forces of the SNA and residents continue their relentless pursuit of Al-Shabaab in the region.
