(19 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somali National Army (SNA), with the support of Jubaland forces, launched an operation to ensure the security of the Main Supply Route (MSR) between Dolow and Luuq in the Gedo region, following complaints from locals about harassment by Al-Shabaab militants. The operation targeted and destroyed several Al-Shabaab hideouts, particularly in Shatalow, Abow, and Laqey, with casualties inflicted on militants who attempted to resist.
Deputy Commander of Jubaland forces in Gedo, Ali Hassan Abdi, stated that the operation will continue until the main road between the two towns is fully secured, allowing residents to move freely and peacefully without facing insecurity from Al-Shabaab.
