(27 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Ministry of Education today released the official results of the national high school certificate exam, with 33,666 out of 36,034 students successfully passing. Zakariye Hussein Mohamed, a student from Al-Marwaazi school in Dayniile district, Banadir region, secured the top position with an impressive 99% score.
While celebrating the achievements of the majority, the Ministry also acknowledged that 2,366 students did not pass the exam.
Speaking at the results announcement event, Minister of Education Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir revealed that the government will provide scholarships to 3,000 students this year, with a special focus on supporting female students who have passed. These scholarships will include three-year programs in teacher training and medical training, presenting a unique opportunity for Somali girls.
The unified high school examinations conducted by the federal government in recent years are considered a significant achievement for the country’s education system.
