(17 Sep 2024) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni received the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Ms Karin Johannson, during her inaugural visit to the state. Their discussions focused on Somalia’s overall situation, Puntland’s progress in security, democratic initiatives, development projects, economic infrastructure, and strengthening cooperation between the EU and Puntland.
Minister of Planning Daud Mohamed Omar Bisinle, State Minister Abdi Mohamed Abdinur, and the Director General of the Presidency, Mohamed Jama Guul, attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, EU Ambassador Karin Johansson met Puntland’s Minister of Women and Family Affairs, Maryan Ahmed Ali, expressing strong support for the Ministry’s important work.
EU Ambassador Karin Johansson further met with Puntland political parties, engaging in fruitful discussions on the democratisation process and short, mid-, and long-term priorities.
