(01 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Former Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Fahad Yasin and close ally of ex-President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, has officially announced the end of their political partnership. In a statement released on Saturday, Yasin expressed his deep gratitude for the trust and responsibilities Farmaajo bestowed upon him during his tenure. Still, he clarified that he would no longer participate in Farmaajo’s political campaigns or any election efforts.
Yasin, who served as a key figure in Farmaajo’s administration, emphasised that this decision was made in the best interest of the nation, dismissing any notion of personal gain. He also assured his allies that he would soon consult with them on the new direction for his political future.
Yasin was considered one of Farmaajo’s most influential supporters. The former President has not commented on the statement by his former NISA Director.
