(03 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Puntland State President Said Abdullahi on Tuesday Deni oversaw signing agreements for the construction, repair, and development of roads connecting various regions in Puntland. The agreements were made between the Ministry of Finance and key players including Albaashid Construction Company and the El Dahir-Erigavo Road Construction Committee.
The projects, which are part of a broader plan to rebuild infrastructure using national tax revenues, include the reconstruction of bridges and roads in key areas like Haji Khair and Laasa Dawa’o. The construction of the Harfo-Galkayo Road is also set to begin soon, with its planning phase nearing completion.
The Puntland Highway Authority (PHA) will monitor these projects to ensure proper implementation and ongoing maintenance, reinforcing the connectivity between Puntland’s regions. The signing of the agreements came during the President’s visit to Galkayo, Mudug region, where he has been discussing the region’s development and challenges with local administration officials, elders, and community leaders.
