(23 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received the credentials of six newly-appointed ambassadors in a brief ceremony held at Villa Somalia, Mogadishu. The diplomats, representing Spain, Ireland, Guinea, Switzerland, Zambia, and Romania, were received warmly by the Somali Head of State. The ceremony included the presentation of credentials from Cristina Díaz Fernández-Gil of Spain, Caitríona Ingoldsby of Ireland, Nounke Kaba of Guinea, Mirko Giulietti of Switzerland, Rose Sakala of Zambia, and Julia Pataki of Romania.
During the event, President Hassan Sheikh extended his best wishes to the new ambassadors, expressing hope for a fruitful and successful tenure in Somalia. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to bolstering bilateral relations with each of their respective countries, focusing on cooperation in areas such as security, trade, and development.
The ambassadors, in turn, pledged to work towards deepening ties between Somalia and their nations, emphasising the importance of collaboration to address shared challenges and opportunities.
