(02 Sep 2024) BOSASO (Halqabsi News) – Puntland Police have announced the capture of a group of suspected pirates along with their weapons and maritime vehicles in the remote Ras Asayr region. According to the statement, the 24-hour operation was led by Lieutenant Mohamed Hasan Isse, Commander of the Bareeda District Police Station. During the raid, three pirates were apprehended, and a boat was seized.
The operation is ongoing as authorities continue to search for four other pirates who remain at large. Ras Asayr police said they are determined to bring anyone threatening Puntland’s security to justice.
Puntland Police have urged the public to report any security threats or suspicious activities. Citizens were encouraged to call the emergency number 999 for immediate assistance or to report ongoing crimes.
