(04 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, on Wednesday launched the National Solutions Pathways Action Plan (2024-2029) in Mogadishu, targeting improved livelihoods for over one million internally displaced persons (IDPs). The comprehensive plan ensures access to services, livelihoods, housing, and enhanced resilience for displacement-affected communities.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, gathered high-level government officials, donors, civil society, and international partners.
PM Barre emphasized the government’s dedication to uplifting displaced communities, calling the plan a “crucial step” toward ensuring every Somali citizen has access to vital services and opportunities.
Federal Minister of Planning, Mohamud A. Sheikh Farah, lauded the collaborative development of the action plan, which aligns with Somalia’s broader development strategies. UN representatives and international stakeholders expressed support, highlighting the plan’s potential to improve service delivery, livelihoods, and community resilience.
The action plan marks a significant milestone in Somalia’s efforts to address the needs of displaced populations, providing a roadmap for sustainable solutions in collaboration with local and international partners.
