(29 Oct 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – NISA operatives apprehended an Al-Shabaab suspect as he attempted to attack a business in Mogadishu. In recent weeks, Al-Shabaab has intensified targeted killings against businesspeople in the city who installed CCTV cameras on their premises in compliance with federal government orders.
The captured militant was part of an Al-Shabaab cell responsible for terrorising the capital and was under close surveillance by NISA. The arrest came a day after three businesspeople were killed in Mogadishu, sparking demands for justice from the business community.
