(29 Oct 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullah, welcomed US Special Operations Commander Colonel David Haskell to his office on Tuesday. The two officials discussed various topics, including training for the Somali police and countering extremism.
The US military official reaffirmed the United States’ support for the Somali police, particularly in capacity building and national stabilisation efforts. Brigadier General Abdullahi expressed gratitude for the continued support, especially towards the police force.
He also gave the US military official a tour of the Police Headquarters’ leadership, marking the first time a high-profile US commander has visited the headquarters.
