(13 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — A deadly explosion in Dayniile district, Banadir region, has left three soldiers dead and three others injured after a landmine detonated beneath a military vehicle in convoy late last night. The blast struck as the convoy passed through Xero Bangalo on a main road in the district.
Residents report that emergency response teams arrived hours later to remove both the deceased and injured soldiers from the scene. Al-Shabaab quickly claimed responsibility for the attack, adding to its series of operations targeting security forces in the capital.
While federal security officials have not yet issued a statement on the attack, the incident underscores persistent security challenges. Nevertheless, recent security operations by government forces have reported gains in Mogadishu, though Dayniile remains a focal point for insurgent activities.
