(13 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Federal Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail ‘Fartag’ met the UN Acting Special Representative for Somalia, James Swan, to strengthen collaboration on peace and stability. Discussions centred on enhancing the security partnership between Somalia’s government and the United Nations, supporting Somali security agencies, and countering threats from extremist groups.
James Swan praised the federal government’s progress in improving security, pledging continued UN support to advance Somalia’s goals for stability and sustainable development. Minister Fartag underscored the importance of international cooperation and the need to create a secure environment for Somali people to thrive.
