(26 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Gedo Governor Abdullahi Abdi Jama Shimbir, who has been in Mogadishu recently, today returned to Garbaharrey following several unsuccessful attempts to enter the region. He was received at the airport by officials from the Gedo administration
Governor Shimbir expressed his gratitude for the reception and urged local residents to collaborate with security agencies to ensure stability in the region. His return came a day after the Jubaland administration based in Kismayo announced his suspension over alleged aid corruption. But the suspension is believed to be politically motivated given the governor’s disapproval of the Jubaland leader Ahmed Madobe’s re-election.
