(14 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Hon Ali Yusuf Ali-Hoosh, met with a Finnish delegation today to discuss Somalia’s security, upcoming elections, and stabilisation efforts. The delegation, led by Finland’s Ambassador to Somalia, Mr Pirkka Tapiola, also included Mr Jussi Tanner, Director General of Consular Services at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nelli Mikkola, Deputy Head of Mission at Finland’s Somalia Office in Nairobi.
Held at the Minister’s office in Mogadishu, the meeting addressed critical issues as Somalia approaches elections. Finnish representatives affirm their commitment to assisting Somalia’s peace and stability efforts. Discussions focused on the fight against Al-Shabaab, alongside broader stabilisation initiatives aimed at strengthening governance in Somalia.
Finland remains one of Europe’s strongest supporters of Somalia’s political and security frameworks, providing crucial assistance as the nation navigates this pivotal period toward stability and progress.
