(14 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Jubbaland forces have launched a counter-offensive against Al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Juba region following an attack that left several casualties.
The Dervish forces, a key component of Jubbaland’s security forces, engaged suspected militants in the Bulo-Haji area on Thursday. The operation aims to prevent Al-Shabaab from regaining control of the town, which was recently liberated from the group.
Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the initial attack, saying they had killed and injured several soldiers. However, Jubbaland authorities have not yet confirmed these claims.
