(13 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The National Intelligence Agency (NISA) has apprehended two suspects, Ali Hilowle Ibrahim and Ahmed Samatar Ali, in connection with the murders of three businessmen on 28 October 2024 in Mogadishu’s Darussalam district, Banadir region. Authorities are pursuing a third suspect believed to have played a role in the killings.
NISA’s recent operations in Mogadishu have led to numerous arrests of individuals accused of conspiracy to kill Somali citizens. The public has largely welcomed these arrests, citing increased security efforts by the agency as a positive step.
This crackdown comes as businesspeople in Mogadishu increasingly face threats from Al-Shabaab. The group has allegedly targeted those adhering to government directives to install CCTV systems on their premises, an initiative to bolster security and monitoring in the city.
