(11 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appointed Abdimalik Abdullahi Abdi as the new director of the National Security Office on Monday. Abdi, who has served in the office for several years, now takes on the directorship under the leadership of Hussein Moallim Mohamud.
The National Security Office in Somalia plays a crucial role in bolstering national stability through counterterrorism coordination, security policy development, and intelligence collaboration. It strengthens the Somali National Army and Police, partners with international allies, aids stabilization in liberated areas, and addresses national crises, fostering security and resilience.
