(27 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Defence Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur has vowed to swiftly apprehend those responsible for a deadly ambush on security forces in the Elbaraf village of the Middle Shabelle region.
Speaking at a press conference in Mogadishu, Minister Nur expressed deep sorrow for the loss of life and extended his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers. He wished a speedy recovery to the injured personnel.
“I share the grief of the families and relatives of the heroes who sacrificed their lives while defending our nation,” Minister Nur stated. “I pray for the swift recovery of our wounded soldiers.”
He emphasized that the perpetrators of this heinous attack would not evade justice. “I want to assure the Somali people that all those involved in this attack will be brought to justice within 48 hours,” he declared.
The Minister issued a stern warning against shielding those responsible for the killing of an SNA soldier in Elbaraf. “Justice will prevail, and any attempts to protect the perpetrators will face serious consequences.”
The ambush has raised serious concerns about the security situation in Middle Shabelle, a region that has faced ongoing challenges from militant groups. Authorities have vowed to take robust measures to address the threat and ensure the safety of both civilians and security personnel.
