Federal Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Abdirahman Yussuf Al-Addala closed a three-day workshop on enhancing media relations and managing government conferences. Over 40 participants came from the media relations offices of various federal institutions.
Ambassador Yusuf Garad, one of the training facilitators, emphasised the importance of regular workshops to strengthen the skills of government media professionals. The Ministry’s Director General, Mr. Abdullahi Hayir Duale, highlighted the government’s commitment to improving media strategies for disseminating information and expressed gratitude to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) for supporting the initiative.
In his closing remarks, Deputy Minister Yussuf underlined the significance of collaboration among federal institutions in addressing challenges in communication and reporting. He also stressed the need to build public trust while countering propaganda to undermine governance. Al-Addala reiterated the vital role of media relations officers in conveying the government’s message, reaffirming the Ministry’s focus on enhancing their skills and capabilities.
