(16 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia is undertaking a series of strategic reforms to enhance its operational efficiency and diplomatic impact.
Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi and Permanent Secretary Hamza Hadow on Sunday met with departmental directors to assess ongoing initiatives and accelerate development projects. The discussions centred on streamlining workflows, prioritising critical tasks, and bolstering the ministry’s capacity to advance Somalia’s foreign policy objectives.
Minister Fiqi emphasized the ministry’s significant achievements, including Somalia’s preparations to join the United Nations Security Council, its integration into the East African Community, and the successful training of young diplomats at the Diplomatic Institute. These milestones reflect the ministry’s commitment to professionalism and innovation.
