(09 Dec 2024) BOSASO (Halqabsi News) — Thousands of Puntland Defense Forces are gearing up for a large-scale operation targeting militant groups. Battalions from the Puntland Darawish forces, alongside specialised counterterrorism units, are in the final stages of preparation for the offensive aimed at eliminating ISIS-affiliated elements in the Bari and Sanaag regions.
Reports indicate that a substantial troop deployment has been stationed in Kalabayr, Bari region, fully equipped with weapons and supplies to dismantle militant hideouts in the Bari mountains.
The militant groups have reportedly fled several villages in the Almiska area ahead of the operation, regrouping in the mountain’s upper reaches to seek refuge.
