(10 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali Dhay, joined national and international stakeholders on Tuesday to mark International Human Rights Day and the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This year’s theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” highlighted the critical role of human rights in daily life and emphasised the need for solutions to challenges hindering these rights. It also called for enhanced protection and promotion of community rights.
Addressing the gathering, Dhay outlined the government’s continued efforts to safeguard human rights and foster international collaboration on related issues. The commemoration brought together a diverse group of officials from the federal government institutions and other guests, underscoring the importance of collective efforts to uphold and advance human rights across the nation and beyond.
