(09 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S) on Saturday hosted a United States delegation led by Major General Garrick M. Harmon, Director of Strategy, Engagement, and Programmes at United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) and the United States Special Operations Command Africa (USSOCAF).
Major General Harmon was received by EUTM-Somalia Mission Force Commander Brigadier General Giuseppe Zizzari, who briefed him on the general security situation in Somalia. The discussion emphasised the ongoing activities of the EUTM-S and explored potential avenues for collaboration between the United States and the mission.
The visit underscored the importance of international partnerships in addressing the security challenges facing Somalia and highlighted the shared commitment of the EU and U.S. to fostering peace and stability in the region.
