(12 Feb 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Deputy Prime Minister, Saalax Ahmed Jama, has called for a stronger role for the private sector in driving economic growth.
Speaking at the Mogadishu Grand Market Exhibition, Mr. Jama urged Somali entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and embrace innovation.
He emphasized the government’s National Transformation Plan (NTP), which prioritizes empowering the private sector as a key engine of economic recovery and development.
“The collaboration between the government and the private sector is vital for economic progress, job creation, and attracting both local and international investment,” he said.
The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with the business community to create a stable and conducive economic environment.
The Mogadishu Grand Market Exhibition showcased new innovations, trade opportunities, and investment prospects in Somalia.
