(16 Feb 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) —Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Sunday met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 38th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
According to Villa Somalia, the discussions focused on Somalia’s ongoing fight against international terrorism, the AUSSOM Mission, and the UN’s crucial role in security, stabilisation, and development. The leaders also exchanged views on key regional peace and security issues.
President Mohamud reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to close cooperation with the UN and acknowledged the Secretary-General’s continued support.
