(26 Feb 2025) HARGEISA (Halqabsi News) — Somaliland President, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi ‘Irro’, accompanied by senior government officials and ministers, held a high-level meeting on Tuesday with international development agencies. The discussions included key donors from the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom (UK), the United Nations (UN), Canada, and the United States, as well as representatives and implementing partners from their respective organisations.
President Irro thanked the visiting delegation for their continued support, emphasising the critical role of international cooperation in driving Somaliland’s development agenda. The talks focused on aligning strategic initiatives to stimulate economic growth, social development, and long-term progress, reinforcing Somaliland’s commitment to global partnerships.
The meeting also underscored the international community’s recognition of Somaliland’s security, stability, and democratic governance. Delegates acknowledged the importance of strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Somaliland and the global community.
In a symbolic gesture of goodwill, President Irro presented each delegation member with a commemorative gift, reflecting Somaliland’s commitment to fostering lasting collaboration with international partners.
