(03 Mar 2025) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — Puntland Defence Forces have announced a major security operation that has successfully driven ISIS militants out of key areas between Tasjiic and Habley. In a press statement, the military confirmed it had flushed out the extremists following recent counterterrorism offensives in the mountainous areas of Bari region. The statement, issued by the Office of Counterterrorism Operations under the Puntland Defence Command, reported that forces had secured control of key locations, including Darayle, Gambara, Dhaban-Gohle, and Dul.
“The military has wrested control of these areas from the fleeing ISIS remnants,” the statement read, emphasising that the operation had neutralized the militants’ presence. Meanwhile, Puntland forces swooped in on Isha Bilcil and Isha Daltoonle, two locations along the Ja’ayl Valley, where they demolished makeshift militant bases abandoned by ISIS fighters in the wake of the offensive.
