(12 Mar 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, held talks with the Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, (SRSG) James Swan, at his office.
The high-level meeting centred on strengthening collaboration between the Somali government and UN agencies, bolstering support for the country’s transition to one-person, one-vote elections, and the newly launched African Union mission, AUSOM.
Prime Minister Barre underscored the government’s strides toward democratisation, national development, and state-building. He also extended his appreciation to the UN office for its continued backing in humanitarian aid, security, and the peace process, reaffirming Somalia’s commitment to fostering stability and governance.
