(9-Mar-23) JIJIGA – The Somali Regional Government has firmly denied allegations that its forces were involved in the ongoing conflict in the town of Lasanod. In a statement released to the media, the government stated that no troops from the Somali Region of Ethiopia present in Lasanod.
This official denial comes in response to recent claims made by the Somaliland Administration, which accused troops from the Ethiopian Somali Regional Government of participating in the conflict in the city of Laso Aanod in the Sool region.
The DDS government has shown patience and has not responded to the repeated accusations and complaints made by Somaliland officials. However, the ministers have expressed their belief that the Somaliland administration is looking for a political distraction and blaming non-existent enemies to handle internal and external questions about the situation.
The ministers have once again called for the Somaliland administration to refrain from divisive words and actions towards the DDS and Somaliland. They have emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation between the two regions for the betterment of the people.
This press release serves as a reminder that the DDS government is committed to finding peaceful solutions to conflicts and promoting unity and cooperation between the regions. The ministers have called for a constructive dialogue between the two sides to address the issues and find a mutually beneficial solution.
