(22-06-23) BEIJING — High-profile workshop for Somali Judiciary officials has concluded in Beijing on Wednesday, signalling a significant step forward in judicial relations between Somalia and China. The event was aimed at fostering intellect, cooperation, and mutual legal understanding among officials from both nations.
Hosted in the High Court of China, the closing ceremony was a celebration of successful collaboration and inter-country learning. The workshop drew legal experts from both countries together, setting the stage for exchange of knowledge and ideas.
Among those attending were prominent figures from the political and legal spheres, including Liu Guixiang, a permanent member of the Justice and Judiciary Committee of the Supreme Court of China, and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to China Awale Ali Kullane.
In his address, Ambassador Kullane lauded the 19-strong delegation from the Somali judiciary who participated in the training. He emphasised his commitment to professional growth and pledged his dedication to the development of Somalia’s legal system. Expressing confidence in the training’s impact, he predicted that the knowledge and skills garnered would significantly strengthen the country’s judiciary and bolster justice nationwide.
