In a ceremony held in the capital, Dusamareeb, President Qorqor signed the Law on Land Management, the Law on Arms Control, and the Agreement on the Elections of the National Consultative Council, in addition to approving the 2024 budget for the state.
The President extended his thanks to the members of the Galmudug parliament and experts involved in drafting the legislation. “These laws serve as a cornerstone in governance and rule of law, offering a lasting legacy for our community,” Qorqor said during the signing event.
The Law on Land Management aims to structure land usage and resolve property disputes, whereas the Law on Arms Control is seen as a timely instrument to regulate firearm use and promote public safety.
The Agreement on the Elections of the National Consultative Council introduces guidelines for democratic governance, outlining procedures for transparent elections within Galmudug State.
The approved 2024 budget emphasises investment in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The President highlighted the budget as a move toward sustainable development for the semi-autonomous region.
